1. UPON
Meaning: Immediately at the moment something happens
Use: To trigger an obligation or right as soon as a specific event occurs
Example:
“Upon delivery of the goods, the Buyer shall inspect them and notify the Seller of any defects within five (5) business days.”
📌 → The obligation to inspect begins as soon as the goods are delivered.

Meaning: Before a specified time or event
Use: To require something to be done in advance of another condition or action
Example:
“The Tenant shall obtain written consent from the Landlord prior to making any structural changes to the premises.”
📌 → The Tenant must get approval before making changes.

3. AFTER
Meaning: Following a specific time or event
Use: To start an action or obligation once something has occurred
Example:
“The warranty shall remain valid for twelve (12) months after the date of installation.”
📌 → The warranty period starts once installation is completed.

Meaning: No later than a certain date or deadline
Use: To set a deadline for an action or delivery
Example:
“The Buyer shall pay the remaining balance by July 31, 2025.”
📌 → Payment must be made on or before that date — not after.
